Ruth Rhoner

Ruth Rohner was born in Walenstadt, Canton St Gallen, in Switzerland on 24th January, 1957. She completed her primary school years in Walenstadt before going to college in St. Moritz. She began her career at her father's tax advisory firm, which employed 18 full-time advisers.  Ms Rohner also completed various business administration college courses while working for her father.

Ms Ruth Rohner met and married Hubert Rohner, and together they founded the Swiss Horse Boot Company, which  is based in Felsberg,  Graubünden,  in 1985. This family run company produces high quality hoof shoes for horses, an alternative to the iron shoes usually worn by horses. Hubert Rohner is the inventor of the Swiss Horse Boots and was responsible for the development and improvement of the boots until he retired in 2005. Ms Rohner is now in charge of the company and is occasionally assisted by their two daughters, Fabienne and Natalie.

Since 1985 the company has grown and now sells the Swiss Horse Boots all over the world. Ms. Rohner is in charge of the business administration of the Swiss Horse Boot Company, which entails completing  the orders and exporting the shoes to the various distributors worldwide as well as keeping the accounts.

Ms. Rohner first learnt to ride when she was fourteen in St Moritz. This was the beginning of a life long passion for horses. She is also a cat lover and can not imagine a life without cats and until recently the family has always had a dog.

In the little spare time she has Ms. Rohner enjoys looking after her two grandchildren and accompanies her husband and daughters when they go riding. She also loves travelling especially to California . One of her favourite spots is Santa Ynez , near Santa Barbara where so many different breeds of horses can be found and counts herself very lucky to be able to spend around two months a year there.  She also loves reading about and meeting native Americans and admires the way horses are an integral part of their lives.
